There will be two sessions available on the day. The afternoon session will be from 1pm- 4pm and the evening session will be from 6pm- 9pm.

The event offers advice and support to landlords and letting agents in offering safer housing and in tenancy management. The event is Free of Charge and will have the following seminars presented by housing professionals:

• Dealing with Rogue Tenants Teresa Kaczmarek (National Landlord Association) will be giving an overview regarding the best options to deal with rogue tenants to minimise rent arrears and protect your property

• Recent changes to HMOs Phil Fasham (Environmental Health Officer) will provide an overview of changes to HMO licensing

• Impact on Landlords of the Tax Change in Interest Deductions and Ways to Help

Azam Mamujee (Partner, M Cubed Chartered Accountants) will be discussing the recent changes in interest tax deductions and ways to help with this.

• Local Authority Benefits update Sharon Evans (Blaby District Council) will be giving an update regarding the transition of Housing Benefit payments to Universal Credit

• Universal Credit Full Service – Information for Private Landlords

An overview of the background of Universal Credits, circumstances when payments can be made directly to landlords and how to make an application for direct payment.
