In East Lindsey and Boston Borough grant funding has been secured to implement a programme aimed at assisting homeowners and landlords to make improvements to the energy efficiency of their properties.

To be eligible for the grant, your property must have an Energy Performance Rating of E, F or G and a household income of less than £30k or in receipt of certain benefits.

Grants of up to £10,000 will be available to owner-occupiers and up to £5,000 to landlords - with landlords being required to fund one third of the cost of works themselves. Grant funding is limited so don’t delay in contacting Rachel Jones, the Sustainable Housing Officer who will be delivering the project for both areas.

Contact details are:

For properties in East Lindsey: greenhomesgrants@e-lindsey.gov.uk

For properties in Boston Borough: greenhomesgrants@boston.gov.uk

or for both, by phone on 01507 613573.

In City of Lincoln, West Lindsey and North Kesteven Council areas Green Homes Grant LAD grant funding has also been allocated and it is anticipated that the scheme will launch in June 2021 and will be available until the 31st of December 2021 for households in these areas.

It is proposed that a proportion of this grant funding will be made available to landlords to help meet the obligation under the minimum energy efficiency standard for private rented properties. In order to inform their delivery profile they would like to hear from landlords who are interested in accessing the LAD grant scheme.  Full grant details can be viewed here

If you own a private rented property in Lincoln, West Lindsey or North Kesteven which is rented to a tenant who you think may meet the LAD grant fund criteria, please email Kate.Bell@lincoln.gov.uk with the following information:

  • Your name;
  • The address of the property/properties;
  • Whether the property is connected to the gas network or not;
  • The energy performance rating (as given on the current Energy Performance Certificate (EPC)); and
  • If you know the type of energy efficiency measures your property may require (recommendations can be found on the EPC).

Subject to the approval of their project your details would then be passed to the appointed delivery partner who would be in contact in June to explain how you can apply for the grant.

Please note that energy efficiency grants are still available through the Lincs4 warmer homes scheme for first time gas central heating and landlords are able to refer tenants for this grant scheme.
