This course looks in more depth at a number of the more common and more complex hazards.  There is a focus on best professional practice in investigating and assessing such hazards and remedial works that are appropriate.  Additional information on the health impacts of the hazards is brought out.  Throughout, relevant Residential Property Tribunal decisions are highlighted and their impact on practice considered.

Course Content

There is a particular emphasis on damp & mould growth and excess cold and the morning session is given over to these hazards. The session includes a detailed look at the main causes of damp and how to differentiate between rising and penetrating damp and condensation. 

·         Carbon monoxide and combustion products

·         Overcrowding

·         Entry by intruders

·         Lighting

·         Noise

·         Falling on stairs etc

·         Electrical hazard

·         Flames, hot surfaces, etc

·         Collision and entrapment

Throughout the course, relevant First Tier Tribunal decisions are highlighted and their impact on practice considered.

Course Fee: £150 members    £195 non-members

Group rates for a minimum of 10 delegates or an in-house course can be negotiated.
