Help prevent Homelessness in East Lindsey

If landlords in East Lindsey are considering eviction of a tenant, please contact the Housing team who can provide advice and support with a range of options. If tenants are falling behind with rent payments or struggling financially, they could be eligible for a short term discretionary housing payment which provides extra money to help meet housing costs if they are receiving housing benefit or Universal Credit.  Find out more  on claiming discretionaty housing payment.

A further option for landlords to help their tenants with financial help and advice on budgeting is informing them of the Citizens Advice Bureau https://www.citizensadvice.org.uk/

The latest government guidance for landlords can be read here https://www.gov.uk/government/publications/covid-19-and-renting-guidance-for-landlords-tenants-and-local-authorities

The current pandemic has seen many households affected financially and some may find themselves homeless or at risk of homelessness as a result. If any landlords are willing to discuss rehousing homeless households or rough sleepers, please contact the Housing team.

It’s important we keep as many residents safe and in suitable accommodation.

The Housing team at East Lindsey District Council can be contacted on 01507 603135. Landlords in other areas are urged to make contact with their own District Council for advice.
